Our 2025 progress
Since our first post-consumer recycled package in 1990, we’ve been working to deliver on increasingly ambitious plastic reduction goals and to engage governments and the public on the importance of collective action to address the plastic pollution crisis.
Our progress through 2025
- Reached 25% post consumer recycled plastic in packaging in our brands such as method®, Mrs. Meyers Clean Day®, Windex® and Scrubbing Bubbles®.
- 33% reduction in virgin plastic compared to our 2018 baseline — a milestone that leads our industry.
- Advocated for policy solutions through continued to engagements with policymakers globally, advocating for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) as a foundation for systemic change.
Our vision is a world free from insect-borne disease, and we’re making progress toward it by combining our decades of entomological expertise with philanthropy and product innovation.
Our progress through 2025
- New high-speed manufacturing in Kenya is producing millions of products to help protect more families.
- The World Health Organization has affirmed the efficacy of our low-cost spatial repellents in preventing malaria.
- We continue working to raise awareness with insect-borne disease prevention education programs in the U.S., Latin America and Asia.
From investing in renewable energy to reducing waste in our operations, we’ve been working for generations to operate in ways that are responsible and sustainable and help protect the planet for future generations.
Our progress through 2025
- Exceeded the 2025 greenhouse gas emissions reduction goal, achieving a 72% reduction compared to the 2000 baseline.1
- Increased global energy use from renewable sources to 48% across operations.2
- All SC Johnson-owned manufacturing sites are now zero manufacturing waste to landfill.3
1Reflects total Scope 1 & Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions change vs. 2000 baseline. Excludes recently acquired entities and Scope 3 emissions. On average, across similar industries, Scope 3 emissions account for up to 80-90% of a company’s carbon emissions.
2 Reflects percent of global energy use from renewable sources within our owned operations and includes grid mix renewables.
3 We define zero waste to landfill as diverting waste through reuse, recycling, repurposing or incineration, with efforts to use incineration with heat and/or energy recovery where feasible. Annual progress excludes new sites that are incorporated more than halfway through the fiscal year.
Since 1937, SC Johnson has been investing in philanthropic initiatives to help create a better world. In the last ten years alone, we’ve contributed more than $300 million to support families, communities and the planet.
Our progress through 2025
- Around the globe, we continued to provide funding for skill training, emergency assistance and help addressing food insecurity for families in need reaching 7.4+ million people.
- Met our decades-long commitment of donating 5% of pre-tax profit to charity annually and supported 750 organizations
- 2.3+ million products donated to help communities and individuals in need.
