Our Commitment on Waste Reduction
By 2050, the UN Environment Programme estimates the world will produce 3.8 billion tonnes of waste per year. That is a legacy we do not want for the landfills of today or for future generations, and it is why waste reduction has been a priority at SC Johnson for decades.

Since 2000, we have been working to reduce waste from SC Johnson manufacturing sites. We try to eliminate waste before it is generated, and to redirect the waste that does occur to be reused, recycled or otherwise responsibly diverted.
We have been working to achieve and maintain zero manufacturing waste to landfill at 100% of SC Johnson manufacturing sites, and expect that all of our manufacturing sites will meet that goal by 2025.

I am proud of the hard work of SC Johnson people at our manufacturing plants all around the globe, who have stepped up to help protect the environment for future generations.

Reducing plastic waste too
While this page focuses on our efforts to reduce general waste from our operations and offices, SC Johnson also has extensive efforts underway to help solve the complex challenges of plastic waste in our business and the world at large.
