Malaria: A Critical
Public Health Need
Something as tiny as a mosquito bite can be devastating for families around the world.
World health authorities estimate that malaria — which is transmitted via mosquito — today accounts for as many as one in five childhood deaths in Africa.
It is a tremendously dangerous disease, causing an estimated 350-500 million illnesses a year worldwide, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
But through efforts like the Healthy Children, Healthy Homes program in South Africa, and a mosquito trap experiment in Ghana, SC Johnson is helping address this critical public health need.
In addition, our product innovations focus on continually improving the performance of insecticides and repellents, making them easier for consumers to use and driving down costs to make protection more affordable for lower-income consumers.
