Can Johnson's paste wax be used on surfaces where food is prepared, ie kitchen counters, islands, etc.? My laminate countertops are worn, and I read somewhere that I could use Johnson's paste wax to renew their luster, but am not sure it is safe if food is placed on the counter. Thank you. - Kathy
Hi Kathy – Thanks for stopping by our site with your question.
While SC Johnson® Paste Wax provides lasting beauty and protection for all wood surfaces, metal, leather, plastic, cork, and vinyl – it has not recommended for use on laminate counter tops. More importantly, though, it is NOT intended for use on surfaces used for food preparation.
The good news is we do have other products designed specifically for laminate countertops!
To clean, protect and shine your countertops, try Pledge® Specialty Surfaces. Not just for wood, this Pledge® product offers great shine and a protective barrier against every day messes and spills for easier clean up. Pledge® Specialty Surfaces also has a great, fresh and clean scent.
For cleaning multiple kitchen surfaces – including countertops – try Pledge® Multi Surface. This light spray formula allows you to move from glass to countertops to appliances with just one product and gives you a fresh clean and streak-free shine. Pledge® Multi Surface is available in three fresh scents – Rainshower™, Lavender Fresh and Citrus.
