Our family adopted the phrase "Marco Polo" from the swimming pool game played by children. While it's used in the game to figure out where someone is in the pool to go after them, we use it when we are out in public and lose track of where someone is. The "children" are well beyond the years where we have to keep them in our sight every moment, so wandering around a store isn't unusual (the youngest is 19!) When I need to figure out where someone is, I'll call out "Marco" and they respond "Polo", thus making it easier to find them, without identifying them by name, or embarrassing them in front of friends!
