Everything I Could Ever Ask For
Simple Things in Oregon
For the last 16 years I have gotten hand made gifts, for Mothers Day, from my children. In 2007, I woke up to find the coffee brewing, the baby had been fed and diapered and a large construction paper card taped to the kitchen cabinet. The card had painted handprints belonging to my three children (then 16, 6 and 6months). Inside the card were paper pockets. One said diamonds and the other treasure. My 16 year old daughter painted her brothers palms, made me diamond earrings out of foam stickers and found glass rocks for treasure. I kept the card taped up for almost a year. When people asked about it I'd tell them it held all I could ever ask for. Those hands will never be that small again nor the simplicity more meaningful.
