Recipe Card Wreath | Family Economics

I never pass up a recipe box at the flea market, thrift store or garage sale and can almost always find one in the kitchen of an estate sale. They are often filled with lovely old handwritten recipes that are not only fun to read and tempting to make, but are wonderful elements for crafting vintage décor. Maybe you have a collection handed down to you from your family.

Here’s a simple and quick craft project that is great for displaying some of your favorites recipes without damaging them. This project also works with other paper goods such as vintage post cards, decorative playing cards, greeting cards and more.

Materials

•    One 12” pressed board wreath form. My form has an outer diameter of 12 inches and inner diameter of 9 inches. You can create your own from scrap cardboard by tracing around plates or bowls from your cabinet.

•    18-20 3” x 5” vintage recipe cards (or other paper goods)

•    18-20 1” bulldog clips. I found vintage-style 1” hinge clips in the scrapbook section of the craft store.

To Make

1.    Attach the center end of a recipe card to the inside edge of the wreath form with a bulldog clip.

2.    Slightly overlap or tuck under a second card and clip with both recipe card titles showing.

3.    Continue clipping the remaining cards around the center of the wreath form. Make spacing adjustments if necessary.

4.    Place on a small nail in the wall to hang.
