Rubber Stamp Gifts | Family Economics
By Cathe
Rubber stamps are such simple and inexpensive gifts that can easily be personalized for the recipients. There are several online stamp services that will customize and create unique stamps for gift giving. You may also be surprised to find a local rubber stamp company or office supply store that can do this as well. Many companies can also take artwork that you supply and size it into a stamp. I have located vintage monograms in clip-art books with the combination of initials of my friends and have ordered them as special gifts.
With some stamp companies, you have the ability to order several of your own designs stamped on one photopolymer sheet and request the sheet be un-cut and un-mounted. This is a great cost saving idea. You then have the ability to cut out the individual embossed images yourself and attach to such things as the bottom of old chess pieces or small wooden craft parts which make great stamp handles, as shown here. Add a small mark to the lower part of the handle indicating the correct position of the bottom of the stamp image as this will be very important for lining up your image when stamping.
Create a beautiful presentation by tying a handled stamp to the top of a package of gift-wrapped blank stationery with a ribbon. Give a custom address stamp to a friend moving into their new home. Before gifting the stamp, you can use it to stamp custom tags, stickers, cards or other items as a part of the final gift. Be certain to clean the ink from the stamp before gifting. You can also wrap the stamp alone or wrap in a gift box with a set of colorful stamp pads that can be purchased at most craft and office supply stores.
Custom stamps make such wonderful gifts that can be used so many ways for virtually a lifetime. And, since it’s clearly an ordered gift, the recipient will surely appreciate your time as well as the gesture.
Do you use stamps to decorate gifts or give to friends and family?
