Do I have to pay for the tours or any portion of the tour?
No, all public tours at SC Johnson are free. Reservations are requested and can be made by visiting www.scjohnson.com/visit or calling 262-260-2154. The Lily Pad gift shop is open in conjunction with all tours and features unique SC Johnson memorabilia and brand gift merchandise, as well as Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired items available for purchase.

Where do I check in for my tour?
All tours begin at The Golden Rondelle Theater, at 1525 Howe Street, Racine, Wisconsin, 53403. Tour check-in is in the lobby.

Are the tours handicapped accessible?
We try to make accommodations for our guests. If you have a special need, please contact our reservation office at 262-260-2154 or email Tours@scj.com prior to your visit. Our tours include indoor and outdoor spaces and guests should be comfortable standing, walking and climbing stairs. Wheelchair-accessible elevators are available in Fortaleza Hall. The Golden Rondelle Theater and Fortaleza Hall venues are walker and wheelchair accessible and the main floor of the Great Workroom is accessible via ramp. Stairs are required to reach the upper levels of the Administration Building.

For the hearing impaired, typed tour scripts are available in English for use during the tour. Tour guides and hearing impaired guests will receive writing pads and pencils to ask and answer questions upon request. Hearing impaired guests are able to bring a sign language interpreter on the tour. Hearing aid compatible devices are available upon request to those viewing films. Certified service animals and white canes for the visually impaired are permitted on tour.

Can I take photos or videos while on a tour?
Exterior photography for personal use is permitted. Interior photography is prohibited, as is the use of any video during tours. If you’re a member of the media, please contact us at 262-260-2440.  

Can infants and small children accompany the tour?
The tours are geared toward adults. Parents should note that tours include indoor and outdoor spaces and there are portions of the tour where you’ll be standing or climbing stairs. Parents know their children best and what their limits are. If you have additional questions or special needs, please contact us 262-260-2154 or email Tours@scj.com.

Can strollers be taken on tour?
Strollers are allowed on campus and on the tours, which are indoors and outdoors. However, please note that there are stairs throughout the tours and strollers may not be used inside The Gallery.

Can guests leave the tour if it is too aggressive (walking and standing)?
We ask that guests remain with their tour at all times, but if you have an issue during the tour, please speak with your tour guide immediately.

What should I wear on the tour?
Tours run rain or shine and include indoor and outdoor spaces. Walking shoes and comfortable weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.

Are there lockers or a place for me to leave my items?
No, you’ll need to carry any items you bring in with you.

Are tours cancelled due to inclement weather?
No, tours run rain or shine.

In case it rains, do you provide umbrellas?
No, we advise guests to check the weather before your tour and come prepared as needed.

Are bathrooms available during the tour?
Yes, bathrooms are available in Fortaleza Hall.

How large are the tour groups? Can I have my own tour group?
To ensure that we deliver a rich experience to each guest, we limit tour groups to approximately 20 people. If you have a large group or special needs, please contact us directly at 262-260-2154 or email Tours@scj.com.

Is there a gift shop?
The Lily Pad gift shop is open in conjunction with all tours and features unique SC Johnson memorabilia and brand gift merchandise, as well as Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired items available for purchase.

What forms of payment does The Lily Pad accept?
The Lily Pad accepts cash or credit cards, but cannot accept personal checks.

Is there an ATM on site that I can use?
No, there’s not a public ATM available for use.

Are there items I won’t be allowed to bring in during a tour?
To protect and preserve the buildings, artifacts, designs and objects you’ll see on the tour, food/drink is prohibited. However, water fountains are available in Fortaleza Hall.

Also, SC Johnson is committed to maintaining a safe and healthful work environment for all employees and everyone who visits our campus. The company’s No Weapons policy prohibits weapons of any type, including concealed weapons, from its premises.

How do I get to the campus?
Take I-94 exit 333 heading east on Highway 20 (Washington Avenue) for approximately eight miles, veer to the right when Highway 20 splits off at 14th Street, go over the railroad tracks through the intersection of 14th Street and Highway 32. The Golden Rondelle Theater is one block ahead on the right.

Is there public transportation from Kenosha/Metra and Sturtevant/Amtrak?
You can visit www.racinetransit.com or www.realracine.com for local transportation information.

Is parking available?
Yes, free parking is available in a lot on the east side of The Golden Rondelle Theater where you’ll check in for your tour.

I heard there’s an SC Johnson company store. Can I visit it?
No, the company store is a benefit for SC Johnson employees and retirees only. You can, however, visit The Lily Pad gift shop, which is open in conjunction with all tours. The gift shop features unique SC Johnson memorabilia and brand gift merchandise, as well as Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired items available for purchase.

Can I make reservations for the Wingspread Tour?
SC Johnson does not handle reservations for Wingspread, but you can call them at 262-681-3353 or email them at Tour@johnsonfdn.org for information.

How far away is Wingspread?
Wingspread is approximately five miles north of the SC Johnson campus.

I visited SC Johnson and lost something on the tour. What can I do?
Any items found during or after tours are turned in at The Golden Rondelle Theater lobby. Please call us directly at 262-260-2154 to inquire about your item.
