Finance and Accounting Intern Program

SC Johnson’s intern program provides endless opportunities to Finance and Accounting MBAs and BBAs who are interested in a summer filled with challenges and fun. Many members of the Finance and Accounting teams at SC Johnson began their career as interns and opted to join the company full-time. Read what some of them have to say about their experience.

When you leave SC Johnson at the end of the summer, you’ll take with you valuable experience, new skills, and great memories.

The Program
We offer project-based internships in a variety of areas. Each project is created to address the current issues that are influencing the company or industry, so you can be assured that your efforts will have a meaningful impact on our business.

Within your assignment, we strive to provide you an opportunity to:

  • Apply theory to real world issues
  • Gain experience you can reapply back at school
  • Develop your critical thinking skills
  • Enhance your communication skills by sharing your results with senior-level employees
  • Get to know the SC Johnson culture and people

At SC Johnson, we believe that we have a world class internship program and therefore heavily recruit well-performing interns for full-time positions.

Performance Review
Interns report to a manager within the Finance organization who has the responsibility to provide you with challenging assignments and projects, guidance and feedback on your work, and on-the-job training. Your manager will also make sure that you not only understand what you need to do, but why it needs to be done.

Teamwork
As you work on your project you will interact with other people in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing or RD&E. You’ll find that the people you work with will take the time to teach, explain and get to know you. You’ll be able to learn from them why they chose to join the SC Johnson family and what it means to be an employee at SC Johnson.

Intern Testimonials
Read what some of our past interns have said about their experience.

My project was in the new products area and the data was scarce. I was amazed at how encouraging and supportive upper management was about the project direction. Often, their thoughts were shared during informal interviews and were critical to project success. The relationships I developed during the internship have made the transition to my full-time career much easier.

Financial Support Manager
SC Johnson provided many activities which gave me a better understanding of the company. Weekly intern lunches with upper management provided insight into multiple departments. In addition, I got to know the people of the company on a business and personal level due to the many social events throughout the summer. At the end of the summer, I had a deep understanding of SCJ and its wonderful people.

Cost Analyst
At the start of my internship, I was assigned a peer counselor. Having a peer counselor allowed me to form a confidential relationship with a recently hired full-time employee. I leveraged this relationship by asking questions about the company, receiving career advice, and voicing any comments or concerns I had during my internship. My peer counselor was very helpful throughout my internship and was instrumental in my decision making process to return to SC Johnson on a full-time basis.
