Training: At SC Johnson, we have developed a robust training curriculum for finance and accounting employees entitled the Global Finance Excellence Program. This program is designed to standardize finance tools and best practices, advance employees' planning and analysis capabilities, and unify training to ensure consistency.
The Global Finance Excellence Program offers both technical and personal development. Through this program you’ll gain exposure to corporate-wide strategy and standards and develop competencies beyond your basic job requirements. Classes cover topics such as:

Mentoring: Mentoring is a crucial component of SC Johnson’s culture. We have developed a structured mentoring program in which a committee has been formed to ensure that the best possible mentor/mentee relationship is established. The program lasts 18 months, and each participant is expected to contribute at least 45 hours to the relationship during that time. This includes a 90-minute kickoff session in addition to regularly scheduled meetings in which an action plan to meet the mentee’s goals should be established; then, one or two meetings per month to keep the action plan active.
Career Planning: When you join SC Johnson, you will have the opportunity to manage your own career. Through our Management Succession & Development (MS&D) process, you will have the ability to direct your career, rather than having it dictated to you.
The MS&D process focuses on matching employees with organizational needs, and growing the talent pool at SC Johnson. Each year, employees go through a formal process to outline their short- and long-term career goals. Succession discussions occur to evaluate an employee’s capabilities and accomplishments and to determine the organizational need.
At the end of the process, employees receive feedback regarding their career plan and whether it is aligned with the company’s perspective. Employees are given clear direction on what needs to be done to achieve the next step in their career plans.
Educational Assistance: We know a professional’s education does not end when they leave school. As a result, SC Johnson offers a variety of options for you to continually refine your professional skills. Employees are eligible to participate in programs such as our tuition reimbursement, on-site training courses or professional certification programs.
