UECK – The Story of Baseball’s Most Unlikely Legend

Over a career that spanned more than six decades, Bob Uecker became one of the most recognizable and beloved voices in American sports. This intimate documentary, filmed over the final three years of his life, captures Uecker as he reflects on the improbable journey that carried him from the dugouts of Major League Baseball to late night television, Hollywood and the broadcast booth of the Milwaukee Brewers.
Co-director Steve Farr and co-producer Denise Roberts McKee, both Racine natives, will be on hand to introduce the 94-minute film as well as offer a Q&A following the screening.

"Scooping the Loop” - a Tour of Downtown Racine in the 1950s-1960s
Monday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 2; 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Join Racine natives Carol Gianforte and Jim Mercier for a nostalgic program about Racine in the 1950s and 1960s. The pair will take the audience “scooping the loop” through Racine’s downtown of that time. Enhanced photos will set the scene as the knowledgeable, local panelists share short stories and humorous anecdotes. Even if you weren’t raised in Racine, this program will evoke the charm of a typical Midwestern town in the 1960s.

Following the August 31 presentation, a special Wright at Night Tour is being offered. This tour offers a unique look at Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings on the SC Johnson campus. A separate reservation is suggested to hold your spot on this free tour.

I Kick and I Fly - A Community Conversation on Courage, Hope and Protection
Thursday, September 17; 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Join us for a meaningful community conversation inspired by I Kick and I Fly, a powerful novel that explores resilience, courage and the strength of the human spirit. Through an engaging discussion, guests will learn about the realities and warning signs of human trafficking, while exploring ways families and communities can help create safe, supportive environments for young people.
The program features author Ruchira Gupta, founder of Apne Aap Women Worldwide and author of I Kick and I Fly, Rachel Harrison, Program Director of Fight To End Exploitation (FEE) and Lt. Sarah Zupke, with the Racine Police Department Detective Bureau.
